Spooky Snacks & Party Picks
(Bo’s Family Favorites!)
Every great Halloween playlist deserves some equally spook-tacular snacks to go with it and trust me, my family doesn’t mess around when it comes to treats. Whether you’re hosting a big Halloween bash or just watching your favorite spooky movies at home, here are a few of my go-to snack and party ideas that are easy to make, easy to find, and guaranteed to disappear faster than a bag of candy left unattended!

- Build Your Own “Boo Board”
One of our favorite traditions is creating a Halloween snack board with a mix of sweet and salty goodies. I usually grab a few of our favorites from Walmart’s Halloween Candy Section and bulk snacks from Sam’s Club.- Mini pretzels (Bonus points if you use the bats and pumpkin shaped ones)
- Orange and black M&M’s
- Gummy worms crawling over popcorn
- Cheese cubes, crackers, and pepperoni for balance (because adults need snacks too!)
- The “Boooo-Crew” Drink Station
At our house, we like to set up a simple drink area, nothing fancy, just fun! Fill a big cauldron-style punch bowl with orange soda, a splash of pineapple juice, and a scoop of sherbet for some bubbling magic (Bonus points if you put a smaller cup into the bowl — separate of the punch — and use some dry ice for a fun foggy effect). Toss in some gummy eyeballs if you really want to gross out the kids (my daughter Bella loves this part). You can grab nearly all the ingredients in one stop at Walmart or Sam’s Club. - Frightfully Fast Finger Foods
If you’re short on time, grab a few ready-to-heat appetizers from Sam’s Club’s freezer section: think mozzarella sticks, mini corn dogs, or sliders. Pair them with spooky names on little signs like “Monster Bites” or “Zombie Fingers.” It’s simple, quick, and gets big laughs. - Sweet Treat Showdown
Walmart’s bakery really shines this time of year. I like to pick up a mix of Halloween-themed cupcakes or sugar cookies and let the kiddos and friends add their own icing, sprinkles, and candy eyeballs. Instant fun. Instant sugar rush. - A Few “Bo Knows” Tips
- Keep it colorful: Orange, black, purple, and green are your friends, they make everything pop.
- Use what you have: Halloween is all about creativity, not perfection. A few lights, a good playlist, and snacks go a long way.
- Set the vibe: Turn on the Halloween Playlist while you set up. Music makes everything more fun

So whether you’re throwing a monster mash or just hanging out with the family, grab your treats, queue up the playlist, and let the Halloween fun begin. From my family to yours, have a safe, spooky, and snack-filled night!
